dr hab. n. med. Marcin Zawadzki, university professor — physician, specialist in forensic medicine and laboratory diagnostician in forensic laboratory toxicology.
I specialise in forensic medicine and forensic toxicology. I perform pathomorphological autopsies at the Department of Pathomorphology and Forensic Medicine of the J. Gromkowski Provincial Specialist Hospital in Wrocław.
I head the Department of Social Sciences and Infectious Diseases and hold the position of professor at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, combining clinical practice with research and teaching.
Examination
What is a forensic examination
A forensic examination is a medico-legal assessment performed after an accident or assault. Its purpose is to document bodily injuries, which is why it should be carried out by a forensic medicine specialist.
Why? The issued document can later be used by the police, the prosecutor's office, the court or an insurer, among others.
Note: please bring your ID card or passport to the examination. In the case of a minor, the child must also have an identity document.
How it works
A careful inspection of bruises, wounds, abrasions, fractures and other marks on the body.
A conversation about the circumstances of the event and the reported complaints.
If needed, measurement of the injuries and photographic documentation.
Assessment of how the injuries occurred and their healing time, together with the legal classification of the bodily harm.
Preparation of a written report or certificate from the examination.
